Fridge for storage

We have an old Kelvinator, that finally kicked the bucket after moving to the new residence. It has now sat for 4 months, and I have cleaned it thoroughly with bleach and installed closet camels etc to absorb any moisture (to prevent the dreaded mold forming). I have had the camels in for a week now, and NO precipitate in the buckets, so I assume it is actually fairly dry in there.

So, I put my Tak FSQ in the freezer compartment, and the rest of the gear in the fridge.

Can anyone see there being potential mold issues here? Should I install a low power UV source to help prevent mold? Any other tricks?

I just don't want to take the Tak out one night and see spores all over or worse, UNDER the objective! I have installed desiccant packs in the lens caps anyway.

I am thinking the semi-hermetic nature of a fridge (even though OFF), should help prevent mold. Please advise if I have the idea bass akwards.

So long as you keep a large capacity rechargeable desiccant pack (or similar) in there to keep humidity low there shouldn't be any problem with mold. For several years now I've stored my eyepieces in an airtight case with desiccant and there have been no problems.

If it's not too expensive, try to get some form of climate controlled storage space for your hardware. That might really be able to help you get rid of some of those issues. I personally find that fridge storage if not done properly can actually cause a lot of condensation upon removal. Either way you can look at silica gel or some other form of moisture sucking chemical to add to your storage area.
