NGC5128 in LRGB

I'll join the line of imagers coming out of hibernation - managed to get a clear enough night last night to FINALLY do some imaging with the Apogee U8300 I bought a year ago and the RC8 I bought a month or so ago. It's been a long time coming but here is the first result of that combination. It's nothing flash. Just 90 minutes of 5 minute subs in Lum and 30 minutes in RGB but I'm not unhappy with what it tells me about the capability of the combination.

Enjoy.

Peter

Welcome back, Peter! Looks like a very promising first light with that combo. The detail in the dust lane is great.

Cheers,
Rick.

Nice one Peter. Have to like those GSO RC's despite what some say.

That's a nice image Peter, pretty good for short subs.

Hope to catch up next weekend

Cheers Geoff

Welcome back!

I shall join the fold next week once my gear is set up in Caloundra. Probably just hydrogen alpha for now, though.

Thanks guys. Since taking that image, I've run a Tak collimating scope over the RC8 I used and saw that the secondary was appreciably out of concentricity. That might explain the eggy stars. Of course a week of rain has set in so ....... The only use the observatory will get will be the bloody snake whose shed skin I found yesterday, draped across a chair in there.

That's a very promising start for a new combination. Good one.
