Hi Garron, As Ken has pointed out ASAW would be the closet society to you.
I believe there is supposed to be a small group of about half a dozen that get together for observing in Bright. But I don't have any contact details for them or know who they are.
Maybe you're best bet would be to make the trip up to our society meeting this coming wednesday (bring your scope with you), you'll be made most welcome.

drop into and visit us, everybody is welcome to join our meetings, The Wollongong Amateur Astronomy Club. Unanderra Community Centre Unanderra 2526.
