Eta Carinae now with Ha, OIII added

One of the "problems" with imaging Eta Carinae in SII luminance is that the longer wavelength of the SII emission can cut through the dark nebulae in the region and reduce contrast in these areas.

By merging separate HaRGB and OIIIRGB images with the SIIRGB image, the dark regions are preserved.

Interesting image and ideas, Steven. I started imaging the keyhole area in NB last night since we're finally getting some decent weather. I was surprised how bright the SII was.

Cheers,
Rick.

Excellent Steven !. Im a little puzzled why the background is so high. The tweak here (low res) only had the level shifted. Theres no data in a flat line left of a histogram. Is your leveling a matter of taste?. No prob if so.

Thanks for the feedback Fred.

I"ll need to invest in a new monitor. Even at maximum brightness images look dark.
I'll need to pay closer attention to the black point.
