The Light War

Man made town lights and naturally occurring green airglow compete to outshine each other. Meanwhile the Milky Way undeterred leisurely rolls across the night sky.

Wonderfull image also looked over you website very impressive.
Can you tell me a little about the type of lens used here and exposure time. Id like to have a go myself.

Thanks David! Yes I read your thread on your current lighting issues A black can of spray paint and a long long stick might fix it

Thank you very much Marios

I'm using a Zeiss 15mm f/2.8 prime lens @ 25 second exposures and 4000 ISO. This particular image is made up of 6 panels and stitched together. I haven't written up a 'how to' yet but as I guide I'd recommend checking out (Iceman) Mike Salways blog, he has thoughtfully deconstructed the process step by step and I have found it very helpful

very nice,very natural work,love the perspective of the milky way,certainly of a higher standard to all the regular over processed milky way images we see here.Exceptionally fine image.
