M17 Swan Between Cloud Banks

Had a devil of a time shooting this one between cloud breaks last night. Took five hours to set up and just when I was ready to go the clouds started rollin in. Focus is soft and guiding was a bit lame. Still, I'm pleased with my first M17.

Exposure: Stack 5 x 200secs, ISO1600, Noise Reduc On, Prime Focus;
Scope: Orion ED80 with crosshairs;
Mount: LXD-75 SN-8 hand-guided.

If it was easy. everyone would be doing it. Good capture considering the conditions. Remember that at least you were doing it. It is an image you captured at the time you captured it. I never erase any data as who knows what is there that can be useful later a hidden comet maybe? In our 'modern' digital age it is all date and time stamped. The weather can only get better ?.
