Beware Renovation boys...

After shelling out around $5k for various bathroom fixtures at "Renovation Boys" in Sydney's Camperdown area....

I tried to call them to ask "where is my stuff?"

Seems they were advertising on radio as late as last Friday, but as of Monday: no phone, website shut down. Deloitte's are the receivers.

IIS's TOS don't allow me to vent my thoughts accurately

Bugger!

Jump on the credit card company (if you used one) straight away and see if they can reverse it quick smart, based on what happened.

Not sure if it will work, but worth a shot?

Chris

Ta Chris.... yep that was the first thing I did....but my Bank only indicated it "might" be possible. Once receivers are appointed, it gets messy...

They were cheap, and as Torana68 says, their service was woeful. I really am surprised that they lasted as long as they did.

I really hope that you get your dollars back, Peter.

Feel your frustration Peter !

Many years ago I purchased a shed at around $3500, 9 months of phones calls they eventually delivered the parts, minus installation (part of the contract).

Went to the receivers meeting to find out they were trading whilst insolvent. I came out relatively unscathed. Talking to other folks, they shelled out thousands more and lost the lot. I was luckily enough to get the shed all intact, but it was through persistent 'harassment'.

What annoys me is the same people will set up shop elsewhere under a different name, Pty Ltd and get away with it.....

These places need to be named and shamed.

It would be interesting if the radio station who flogs their advertising makes mention of anything during there talkback segments......something tells me it will be 'All quiet on the Western front'....

Norm

PS: I've bought couple of products there in the past, very, very average service. So so products.... Cass Brothers are much better IMO, but you do pay a price.
