Hi Starkler,

You can find details about the ASV Star Party at:

http://www.asv.org.au

It's on their main page. My understanding is that they are open to non-members.

There is a MS-Word document with little info on location. "Leon Mow Dark Sky Site" but to know where that is exactly, I guess you have to be "in the club", because there isn't enough info on the website about location either.. and there seems to be no such place as Leon or Mow or Leon Mow in Victoria.

From what I can gather, its just outside of Heathcote and apparently is open to the general public. I couldnt find any reference to the Leon Mow either. I think I might just settle for a couple of nights of home viewing in comfort.

Ving, what did we say about tom foolery on the information forums. Please don't do this again. You can do this all you like in the general chat area, but not on the information forums.

I still would like to know if this event is on and if anyone is going.

It's looking like we might get some clear skies this w/e + moonless night, which should make for some great observing. If I can get some pressing work out of the way by tomorrow a/noon I was gonna head out of town for some observing anyway. Heathcote is not that far from where I was gonna go, so if this ASV thing is happening I would check it out, if I knew exactly where to go.

BTW: Thanks Smokey for the newsflash!

Steve
Going by thier website, this event is definately going on no matter what the weather. I tried calling the phone number on the website, which was a recorded message with another phone number to try. 95965884. I tried this number also, but got another recorded message, asking to leave a message(which I did) and they will hopefully get back to me.
If I hear anything before I head off to work tonight, I,ll let you know.
I am still in 2 minds as to go or not. I am in Romsey and Heathcote is only about 35min or so away for me.
