IIS1K: And the winners are..

Congratulations to the prize winners of the IIS1K Thousand Member Competition:

1st Place

jackenau

2nd Place

cahullian

3rd Place

Ian

4th Place

grl

Congratulations to the winners, and thanks to everyone who took part in the competition. It was a great way to celebrate a great milestone. To show much growth there's been, we're already over 1120 users and we just finished the thousand member competition!

Thanks as always to the sponsors of the IIS1K competition:
Australian Sky&Telescope, VSO Software, SkyLab Astronomy Software, Southern Astro Remote Imaging, and Stellar Seats.

Without their generous donation of prizes, this competition wouldn't be taking place!

I'll be in touch with the winners via PM, so please make sure you respond to me with your postal address so I can arrange to get the prizes sent to you.

Thanks again

Below are 2 photos from the draw. I finally got some to use, after RB insisted on taking out of focus shots, and then some more without using the flash

Next time i'll be sure to put the camera on full auto for him

Mike's camera is in urgent need of collimation, and it's cool-down period is enormous.....
Fully automatic please mike, you know I can't work out these new gadgets.

Congratulations to the winners, lucky buggers , and thanks to the generous sponsors. It's great to see amateur astronomy so strongly supported by astronomy businesses.

Is it my imagination or is the Iceman starting to get that notorious "Port Glaze" look

Congratulations to the prize winners, do they get titles as well from Iceinspace U ?
Well with that out of the way you can get to work on the TV show.. And maybe approach Toohey's or Carlton breweries to become major sponsors, that could fit the dream.
Thanks very much to the sponsors and maybe we could all ask ourselves if we can use their products, I know they will see my astronomy dollars before any of the competition, and their name will be on my lips if I am asked a "what to buy" question.
And to Mike and his support team.. congratulations for thinking up the promotion and a perfect exectution of the plan.
May all your skies be clear and dark.

Not entirely RBs fault, Mike forgot to switch from Manual focus to Auto before passing over the camera.

Then for the second attempt the flash was not activated.

Third time lucky.
