You all rock at this...

I'm very impressed by the high standards set in the forum and often times I go to reply to images but don't because some how saying "great image" doesn't cut it and gushing just isnt me.
So for the record, I'd like to say that you all rock at this astro photography thing.

I've very impressed.

Regards
Sandy

Well said Sandy.
I feel exactly the same way!
Like you I feel I have to hold back on my "Great shot!" too often (unless a personal friend)
feeling unqualified enough to put forward such an opinion.

But I know what I like (even if the fine technical bits are not known)
And I agree, the shots are amazing!!!

So well done to all from me too

Ditto! There are so many fabulous images on this site, and I used to try and compliment each and every one. Seems I upset some members by making so many posts!
So I no longer comment on each and every image-that doesn't mean I don't appreciate them.

I have to agree with this as well. I like a lot of the images I see here, but I can't possibly comment on all of them. In a way, a "like" or "+1" button would be good to have, just to indicate that some acknowledgement of the image.

I will take it one further......

To me IIS is a very handy bit of reference material.......it has helped me immensely, and even though I never really say to much, there have been a lot of "teachers" on here that have aided me no end without even knowing it.

So hat of and a great big thanks to all of you

Nice Image

Just those two words means an amount to me as I know someone has shown some appreciation & supplied the encouragement, which is very often the case with those starting out as well

That Said, All Images here are works from various grades of atro-equipment and expertise, rich in technical details for any level, including single 1st time exposures from say an ED80 on a tracking only mount !

The one thing thats very imprresive is those who are constantly producing Images, very dedicated and a real valuable asset to IIS

We need a 'like' button. Then Mike can automate the IOTW after tally. No maintenance.

Agreed, it is hard sometimes to comment on all images, and instead of just saying nice shot, or well done, I try to make the response a little longer buy saying something like "top shot, lovely colour and composition" well done indeed, or at least try to add something else into the response.

Other than that it can get very repetitive even if one is genuinely impressed with the image.

Having said that, there is some awesome imaging going on here, and not to forget the terrestrial stuff happening, some very talented people out there

Leon
