smoke gets in your eyes!

I was out in the Obs at 0100 this morning trying to do some plate solves with Astro tortilla and nothing was working. I got up from the desk and looked out east... The stars had disappeared!! I was looking for cloud but the coverage was very even. I had to give up as I was wasting my time and bed was a calling.

This morning there is smoke everywhere. This post explains it http://www.dpaw.wa.gov.au/news/alert...5-january-2014

Damn this is a lot of smoke covering a very large area!

Yep, it was an unpleasant surprise this morning. It seems to have gone at the moment and I hope it keeps moving on as I have observing plans for the next few nights that I don't really want spoiled either.

Thanks for solving the mystery - I was scratching my head this morning wondering why last nights data looked all washed out...
Cheers,
Andrew
