favourite Christmas drinks

I was perusing the recipes for eggnog recently and most of them make the mix up and leave to mature for yonks.
So it got me thinking about other xmas drinks and what else could I do?
A few years ago me and the Father in law got quite happy on what I called "gospel bombs"- a tall glass of guinness with a shot of good port in it. Not a bad way to spend a few hours, though I seem to remember as my dear departed Mum would say-"having a thick head" the next day!
Any one have any other faves?

Cold Guinness with a small Jameson whiskey. Given the current heatwave I will settle for any cold beer.

Egg-nog with a good splash of Rum, very tasty.

Problem is that you don't realise it's catching up with you until it goes flying past.

Given the weather at this time of year... My favourite is the bubbly from Angulong vineyard at Millthorpe - a beautiful pale sparkling rose, smells of yeast and hot buttered toast with hints of strawberries, easily the equal of French ones. Usually this opens with quite a bang so have a glass ready.

They also make a very nice bubbly Chardonnay too, which is light on the alcohol so the ladies won't get too plastered.

We have a tradition of making marinated vodka martinis. A vanilla bean works well, last year we used truffles - that was amazing!cheers
