The Federal Australian Government, in it's infinite wisdom of being a controlling nanny state, decided a few years ago that normal citizens cannot use creosote, as it supposedly poses a carcinogenic risk (actually LOWER than many other products still available). As many know, it is still the only product that actually works and STAYS working for years, unlike the newer garbage that needs reapplying every few months. ANYWAY...
Was hoping SOMEONE here knows where some may be purchased, or may actually have some in a drum somewhere. I need it to finish off some military restorations (coachwood rifle furniture - Lithgow used linseed oil and creosote mix to stop water ingress and prevent mould). I would REALLY appreciate it if someone can help out. I only need a litre - that would last another 20 years.
I had a can for 20 years, and only recently ran out. I refuse to stain the wood, as I also need the SMELL to be right, not just colour

NOTHING smells quite like linseed, creosote and coachwood...
