Thumbs up IceInSpace 2014 Calendars - awesome!

Two IceInSpace 2014 Calendars that I ordered last week arrived in the post today.

One is entitled "Astronomy Calendar 2014" featuring some of the best astro
images taken by IIS members. Congratulations to all involved! The photography
is stunning and is testimony to the skills, dedication and talent so many
astrophotography enthusiasts have.

The other is "Southern Sky Calendar 2014" featuring jaw dropping landscape and
nightscape photography by Mike Salway.

Both calendars have the same high quality glossy production and come with the
bonus of being annotated with astronomical events, monthly finder charts,
nightly Moon phases, Australian public holidays and school holidays.

Plus both come with giant fold out wall posters featuring Wil Tirion star charts
on one side and images from "Astronomy Calendar 2014 Photo Competition
Finalists" on the other.

The perfect calendars for astronomy enthusiasts to hang on the wall in the home,
the office and the observatory.

Plus they make perfect Christmas gifts.

Plus you help this web site in the process.

Why not order some online now -

I agree Gary...and what a front cover, hey? ...don't worry, once you open to January on your wall you won't have to look at it again for the whoooole year

I have Salway's lovely calendar too...now, it will grace my wall in the Loo (a truly prime position) for a full year...ever noticed how many important dates are remembered in the dunny..?

Hi Mike,

What an awesome image of M42 it is!!!

However, given that the Orion Nebula is around 1,344 light years away, the only
pity was, I thought, that the photographer didn't go to the trouble of
acquiring a more recent image of it.

I took one look at it and thought, "that's probably around 669 AD". I then
checked that the calendar was in fact 2014 and that Mike Salway wasn't simply
shifting old stock of calendars.

All the best for Christmas and the New Year to you!

Best Regards

Gary

My local astronomy club ordered a few of the calenders for the members to purchase. The box they came in had "Astrology Calenders" on it. Had to have a chuckle about that.

Thanks for the support, Gary!

A few boxes of calendars still sitting in my storage room but they've been selling quite well so I'm pleased.

Just put my order in for 1 of each of the calendars, always a good, quick source of astro info.

Season's Greetings Morton,

I happen to have a ruler handy and can tell you it's 550mm x 450mm.

It is not stapled within the calendar but is folded in four.

Best Regards

Gary
