HOw can rotating a sirius dome turn off a isolated ccd camera?

well here is the story - fir the first time i have used the celestron Nightscape OSC n the observatory. For some unknown reason every single time i use the switch to move the dome the camera just cuts out being read and loses its connection to the PC. It took me hours to work out i haven't the foggiest what is going on - the dome is on a battery and the computer with the maxdome connection was not running the camera? this is nuts - twilight zone material so every single time the dome moves this turns off the camera - you get the dada dagong death sound of the usb resetting

Your story is strange, so maybe the answer requires some lateral
thinking. Is it possible that the problem is physical rather than electrical?
Is there enough vibration from the moving dome to momentarily
disrupt an electrical connection somewhere? Just a thought.

doesn't move a thing - never did it with the DSLR?

Is the camera to P.C. connection cable or wireless?

If the camera to P.C. is cable, does the cable run close to, or cross
the power cable to the dome motor. The dome motor would, I imagine,
use a fair bit of current, and could generate enough induction to interfere
with an adjacent cable's functioning. Just another thought.

Sounds like you have a Sirius problem

There was a thread a few months back about obs roof motors/switches messing with electronics. Gary gave some great advice on earthing and grounding and wiring in general for electronics and power devices housed in the same observatory.
