Very nice Mike. I suspect these pictures will freak out some of our Northern Hemisphere brethren, when they see what gear you have used to capture your stunning images of Jupiter. Not a C11/C14 or GEM in sight!

Cheers

Dennis

PS - Lovely maroon focuser...pity about the blue camera on the end....

Yes, but, as of Wednesday night, anything with a wavelength longer than 492 nm is Maroon….

Cheers

Is it still a Dob or a Cyborg?...

I am a bit fearful of "being assimilated"...

Great setup Mike, I'm very tempted to do this to my 12"LB.
I hope you bring it to our club meeting ( M.A.S.) next year.

It is amazing how much technology we use today just to look at the stars! Sort of like the equivalent of the "fluffy dice and dog on the back shelf with the nodding head"!

When I get my tube rotators I should put in a picture of my setup to show what a Cyborg GEM looks like! Resistance is futile, your scope WILL be assimilated!

I thought he was using the "earth" leccy tape as a safety marker of some sort (ie dont bang your head on this bit in the dark), but maybe it's nothing more than a rotten pun marking a ground based scope as "earth".

*chuckle*

A very complex looking setup Mike, I'll be interested to see how much more you can get from the humble dob.
