Large sunspot

Fri Nov 8th. Lots of cloud and light rain in Vic but I waited all day to capture AR 11890 and got one shot before rain again. This one taken thru light cloud (hence the darkness and patches) but you can see the detail. Canon 550d and WO 81 mm scope with Baader wedge. North to upper left. Thanks for viewing.

Nice work John, good to see the relationship between the sunspot size and the rest of the solar disc.

Cheers

Nice capture John. My recent move from a dark site to floodlit Canberra has prompted me to look more closely at our local star.

Large sunspot

Thanks all for your comments, appreciate them. This sunspot group is a beauty. Will keep my fingers crossed today for a clear patch of sky - doesn't look good at moment. Cheers. John W.
