Anybody caravaning Australia with a telescope

I'm considering an 8" cassegrain for travelling.
Looking at then due to the intermediate size.
Any suggestions or experience. Thanks.

Hi Barry
Our club uses an 8" LX-90 which will give satifing views of bright DSO's & is awesome on the planets, star clusters etc. I would suggest a good airtight case for travelling though !
Cheers
Ian

+1 an 8" will show you plenty, but definitely recommend a good case. I travel with my 8SE in a peli-type case and it survived the long haul baggage handlers

Hi Barry,
Anna and I have been on the road just over 5 years now and we travel with our 18". You just can't beat aperture when you have pristine dark skies!

Hi Barry
I travel with a TAK TOA130 but find it a bit large and heavy for the caravan, my ideal would be a little Questar 3.5" simple and easy to set up thats assuming its just for visual
