More from Little Lagoon

These two shots were captured at Little Lagoon, similar to the panorama with the arching Milky Way over Little Lagoon – but obviously much narrower.

Venus had just set below the horizon. I was hoping for some reflections off the water, but it was too windy.

The yellow glow on the left is from the nearby town of Denham. There’s also a vertical / portrait orientation. Which do you prefer?

Canon 6D, 14-24mm f/2.8, ISO6400, 30s exposure.

Thanks for looking.

Very nice Mike

I prefer the landscape orientation. The portrait shot makes me feel like im looking through a window.

The core of the Milkyway is very bright, I like it.

Well done

I love the foreground, that clump of ..?..what ever it is, looks rather alien and works well with the vast Milky Way above

To me though the Milky Way looks too bright and stark, almost over exposed I think this would be a beautiful image if you displayed the Milky Way a little more subtly

I know it's sort of cheating... buuut cloning out the man made light dome there might work too

Still, a great image Mike
