Another Migraine/hospital bout

Hi everyone,

Well I just got out of hospital again after another migraine attack.
I spent two day in and I still feel pretty groggy atm.

Boy I've missed a lot here on IIS, sorry if I haven't replied to your posts.
Will try and catch up.

I also have some images to process from last week, I finally did some prime focus shots through the TAK, so I'll post ASAP.

Cheers.

Gosh, hope you feel better soon. I was wondering why Paul and I seem to be the only ones doing any work around here. Looking forward to the Tak pics!

Not again Andrew! My sympathies mate. Still getting mine off & on, but not as severe as yours obviously; I don't end up in hospital. I have to go straight to bed & try & sleep it off though.

All the best

are you sure its not the effect of red wine and late nights/early mornings imaging? Hope the electrical activity slows down and the brain can function again mate. migraines are not good at any time, and drugs will only do so much. So would you like some star dust instead of Bex

Get well soon. and post those images when you can

Hi Andrew

Welcome back and so sorry to hear of your health concerns. I do hope you manage to get to the bottom of what causes the migraines, they really do sound awful.

Take care, be well and look after yourself.

Dennis

Sorry to hear your migranes have hit you again
Did they do any more tests to see what may be causing this?
Or have you been eating something beforehand that may bring them on?

Thanks guys,

Daniel I'll be going back to a nerologist and try some preventatives again.
About four years ago I came out of a bad rut of migraines.
Now it seems they have surfaced for no apparent reason.
Diet is the same.

The only cure is to do more imaging and observing I think.
Thanks for all your well wishes guys.

Sorry to hear about the migraines Andrew. I hope the neurologist sheds some light on the condition, and you can be free of them.

Hi Andrew that is not good to hear.
My first wife suffered extrodinary migrianes to the point where I would have to have the Doctor do a house call (do they still do that?) and give her a shot to relieve the pain.
I read a lot about the problem. It was put forward by someone that the effect is caused by the brain dropping slightly in temprature relative to the rest of the body..now I dont know if this was a palacebo thing but it worked for my wife..whenever a hint of on coming she would wrap her head and keep it as warm as possible. After a while she could head them off and as far as I know they never get to her anymore.
It sounds weird but I know how you must feel when having an attack and you reach a point where you will try anything she did and it worked for her.

Have you noticed a relationship between viewing in cold weather to the condition?

Alex thank you, that is very interesting, I will try it next time.
I too get them to the point where nothing else can be done but to have maximum pain relief. Where I live there are no doctors close so it's either drive half an hour to a doctor or travel the other direction to the hospital.

I've had numerous viewing nights, usually all night with no real effect.
So still don't know why they happen like that.

Anyway I will try your advice.

Thanks again.

I recall one night where she beat it back that way.. turned the electric blanket on 3, hot water bottles on her head, hot tea took about 3 hours and it did not go away but it got her under the call the doctor I cant go on phase and it was gone the next morning.

Hi Andrew, I know a chiropractor who wrote his PhD on Migraine treatment. He's had quite a lot of success treating the problem in some people. I could give you his contact info if you're interested - he works in Sydney and the Central coast of NSW. I'm not sure where you are. It sounds like you're out in the bush.

Yes please John, please send me a PM with the details.
Thank you!

Also thanks for your well-wishes Chris.
