Another slant on 'Ruthless spring clean'

Damm , I had a full on day today going thru 5 years worth of boxes !! , 1/2 my spare room , so many .
Anyway I found a sealed up box with about 4 smaller 2x diagonal boxes inside , 2x GSO and 2x WO , complete with lovely inside casing , paper work , etc. , sweet find .
I put that aside and went thru the rest , was 'RUTHLESS' , and filled the yellow recycling bins here at home .

Fast forward to 1/2 an hour ago ....
I am looking to pack my Ister refractor away tomorrow after a good look at the moon tonight , ready for the move , looked at the TMB 2 inch diagonal and , yes I have 4 boxes to pick from . Cool .

BUT NO! , that box with the 4 diagonal boxes is gone !! , I have just come in , all sweaty and pissed off after pulling the yellow recycling bins apart ,,, 3 times , ( my neighbours are thinking ,,, ' Who is this mad man '? ) ..
But alas that box is gone ??? , I think the 'Aliens' might have taken it for analisyis??? , but yes its gone ?? .
I even looked in the empty spare room , and cupboards . She's gone

Bugger , where do these things like that lost left foot sox , keys , and the likes go , got me buggered .

Brian .

Hi Brian,

I know that feeling, don't you just hate that? You probably put it in another "safe place", only to be found again sometime in the distant future.

Cheers Pete.

Don't worry Brian it'll turn up in 5 years time.

Don't know if you have small kids but they are the black hole of my house. Still can't find my wallet, my keys often end up in my shoes go figure and will often catch them running off with whatever I happened to just put down the cheeky so an sos.

...might have been accidentally sucked in to at Biro vortex..

I put the remote key for my Prado in a safe place while I mowed the lawns, didn't ever find it, the replacement keys cost over $500 by the time they're cut and programmed. Luckily I was able to source a second hand one on eBay and program myself.

Hopefully your box isn't in the Recycle bins and will eventually turn up.

Just been going through boxes repacking and getting rid of unwanted treasures before the big move and come across a sealed box in a bigger box. It is full of GSO plossl eyepieces 2 diagonals laser collimator and Swan mounting rings and a GSO focuser.
At least I will have some accessories when I get my new scope.

Always the way Trevor.

It doesn't matter how many times I have a clear out, I always regret throwing something out.....ever time. I have had it for many years and never needed it, until after I threw it out.

Maybe that is just a "universal law".....it's not needed until you haven't got it any more!

Cheers Pete

Unmmm, how do we know what we will want in the future? Keeping everything, just in case one might need it in the future, leads to hoarding.

Hoard away if it makes you happy - I like a lot of people just can't stand clutter and throw out stuff when the need makes me

Update ,,,,
I am now living in the lounge , sleeping in my Swag , the rest of the house is clean'd out , with the full ute load of scopes , tools , clothes , water and food ready for the start of my round beautiful Australia trip , working/ camping/ astronomy holiday , and that box of box's , is gone , not to worry tho , I had BACK UP ( that I did not even know I had ? ).
My 1 1/4 inch diagonal that is used with my Hershell Wedge was in a 2 inch diagonal box , an old red one so the TMB is packed away and the Wedge 1 1/4 is in an 1 1/4 inch box where it belongs .

But that sealed up box will remain a mystery for ever .

Here is the gear ready for a holiday .
Brian.
