nGC 456 with a bit of added Ha

I originally took 3 hours of Ha with this object but didn't use it in the original posting because it wasn't very high quality. Later on I went back and decided maybe I could use it. I think the improvement is subtle but the Ha has had the effect of smoothing out the faint nebulosity in the original a bit. Anyway for what it's worth here it is.

Cheers

Steve

That's nice, Steve.

I imaged this target a couple of years ago with a GSO RC10 and got quite a lot of Ha but with very little detail. I ended up with something that looks like I dropped a big blob of strawberry jam on your image

Thanks Rick. There is a lot of faint Ha in this field and I probably needed 2-3 times as much for the best result. The 11002 sensor just isn't that sensitive to Ha. Basically I just used what I had to try and smooth out the faint nebulosity.

What a ripper Steve! Its great to see NGC456 up close. Not regularly imaged at this focal length. Enjoyed the rich colour saturation too. Well done.

That's a really nice image Steve. I also like the rich colours and the blues. The star colours are nicely done as well.

Greg.

Thanks Ross. I was wondering if I overdid the saturation but most people seem to like it.
