Everyone has heard of NGC253

This is NGC254 also in Sculptor. Had all sorts of yet unexplained weird problems with the data on this one. This image probably explains why most people concentrate on NGC 253.

Cheers

Steve

Diffraction spikes, round stars and an extra galaxy at the bottom of the frame so I'd say your gear was working very well just one tough character to get its photons onto a chip.

Great work that's what I'm aiming for with my rig. Maybe one day.

Nice shot.
Just checked - NGC 254 is half way between NGC253 & NGC 300.

That certainly looks like a challenging target, Steve!

Thanks Rick. It's not that challenging. The surface brightness of the galaxy is reasonably high.

Thanks. I just corrected my caption - it's south of NGC253, not north. If you centre NGC 253 and go about 6 degrees south you'll get it.
