Tall Ships arrive in Hobart

Living at Tinderbox gave us a grandstand view as the magnificent Tall Ships made their way up the Derwent River this morning. They will be here for five days before heading for Sydney where they will be a sight arriving in Sydney Harbour.

Hey Steve,

that's a magnificent view of an incredible event. Beaut pics too!

That doesn't look like a public viewing platform. Is that actually your own back yard overlooking the bay?? Wow !

Hi Paul,

That's my fixed pier for night time visual observing just next to our bbque area - I have a gas chair on wheels that allows me to sit comfortably at the scope for observing. Yes, it works well as a day time observatory - gives me good views of local yacht races, Sydney Hobart race etc. The 3 photos cover views to the east, north-east and north with parts of Hobart in the distance in the northerly view.

Steve.
