Cepheus zoom and dust ...

Cepheus is a northern constellation rich of objects ... the best know is the IC1396 bubble. I already posted a widefield of this object taken with a modified DSLR (http://www.starkeeper.it/IC1396WF.htm).

Now i would to show you the center of this nebula , the VdB142 or Elephant's Trunk nebula ...a very strange place, obtained with my RC some weeks ago:

http://www.starkeeper.it/VDB142.htm

Cepheus is also famous for its giant molecular cloud, this is the NGC7129 Nebula area with the open cluster NGC7142, a deep image show the dust and the Hydrogen gas in the middle, the nebula also show a lot of HerbigHaro objects that you can find in full res version:

Like every time i hope you'll find this post interesting.

All the best,
Leo

Hi Leo,

Great images.

I'm particularly interested in the VBD142 image. I was wondering if you have a procedure for recombining the Ha data with the RGB data. I have all sorts of trouble trying to get even close to the RGB colours once the Ha has been added.

Cheers
Stuart

Thans to all for feedback ..

@Stuart .. usually i don't use to take a HRGB or LHRGB (VdB142 is an LRGB) .. but when i tried i added Ha to luminance and color with a lighten layer in PS. In case of HGRB i usually create a synthetic Luminance. Try to ask in a dedicate thread .. there are some of the best AP in this forum using this composition.

All the best,
Leo
