Wide Fields From Astrofest

I finally got to processing these from my old Pentax with the 135mm f1.4 lens on my LXD55 unguided. Polar alignment was a bit out so there is some drift during the exposure and some colour fringing from the lens next time I will try the f2.8 setting.

90x30sec subs @ f2.0 (camera based darks in btw each image)

But the dew shield worked a treat. (AstroFest find what you can DIY)

If you wanted to get rid of the colour fringing it shouldn't be to hard.

Cheers

Great shots Justin, those blue halos can be tamed with Prodigital Astronomy Tools - http://www.prodigitalsoftware.com/Products.html

Great set of scripts that are run in Photoshop. I find these tools helpful to finish my processing, and at a good price too.

I used the Mac photo editing program Aperture, and lowered the saturation of the deep blue, see pice.

Cheers
