First Storm of the Season

Our first storm of the season was a cracker.
The severe storm warning came through late afternoon and Somerset Shire sent out warnings via text message.
I drove about 1km out of town and set up on top of a hill overlooking Kilcoy. While there, 3 other storm chasers turned up.
Not long after this photo was taken (it's a stack of 2 shots) the storm hit with a vengeance. It's after midnight now and still raining. We sure need it too.

JJJ,

Now that's light pollution!!

No lightning down here in Brissie, well not around my parts, just rain. And as you've said, we sure needed it!

Cheers,
Mario

I have always been fascinated with lightning shots. This a great one. Look at how thick those bolts are - they're huge.

Impressive pic, that's one hell of a storm, lucky they didn't strike the hill you were on.
