can you guys believe some idiot made it to the senate because of preferential voting. We now have some poo throwing moron running the country. They seriously need to have a look at preferential voting and misleading of voters for the next election.

He represents the Motoring Enthusiasts Party and has been a member for three months but has has never met the party's founders. If he serves the full term he could come away with $1.2M...not bad for an unemployed father of five.

The Herald Sun had the political cartoon describing the Senate as a circus...I think that is spot on the mark.

If I had my way I would place all politicians on Performance based agreements

Well I for one think that it might be good for us who like cars as well as telescopes to have a representative in parliment. Too many laws are screwing us all and mainly just for revenue raising.

Actually, that's not a bad compromise and it's very simple to do. You could adjust the 5% figure down a bit if you want, but it would still allow the preferential system to work.

Call ourselves the Lightless Night Party, or LNP for short and get ourselves a slot in column A. That's how the NSW senate vote works isnt it?! We'll easilly get a couple up
