Pt. Victoria Jetty and Milky Way

Hi. We got away for the weekend and i was treated to some nice dark country skies on the coastal town of Port Victoria, S.A "The last of the Windjammer Ports".
Taken with the 500D and Samyang 14mm lens
f2.8/iso 1600/30 secs for the sky
f/22/5mins/iso 800 for the jetty lights, applied with a layer mask just because i like the spikes it gives.
Cheers,
Steve.

That's a beautiful shot Steve!

It always pays to take the camera.

Cheers,

Justin.

I like that shot a lot. Great composition - half the jetty and half the Milky Way - gives a nice balanced feel to it.

Greg.

Thanks Justin. I took a lot of images that weekend. Still yet to properly look at them all. Including a 15 min sub of NGC 253 which has more detail than any other of my attempts of the object. Just doesn't look to good when it stacks up. Will have to address flats/darks issues.

Thanks Greg. I'm glad you like it. I didn't end up trying a pano for this location. Instead i headed up the road, saw a few Wombats ( funny looking things ) on the side of the road and took some Milky Way shots.
