Sudden jump in price of the EQ8?

EQ8

Just looking at it for around 4.5K. refreshed my page and it's now $5299!!!

What happened?

I was just on the verge of pushing the button to buy it and in one fell swoop it's out of my price range. Feeling fairly upset and discouraged right about now.

How can you put something up by $800 overnight?

It's still listed at $4199 from Astro Pete's I think there have been a few IISers who have purchased from them already.

Thanks Dave. Yeah, I found them 5 minutes ago while looking wildly all over the net in a mad panic. I wonder why they can still afford to sell them at yesterday's price. Might have to get my brother up in Brisvegas to drop in on unky Pete and have a look for me.

I'm putting this one down to the AUD.

My hunch is that when the first round of these mounts were ordered the dollar was near parity, now it is ~10% down, so new stock will have risen in price. On a $4500 mount that means a $450 price rise.
