"UFOs" or the Attack of the Weather Balloons

I saw this impressive daytime "UFO" display this afternoon. The two bright spots in the sky were quite noticable.

I was doing some astrofest equipment tests so I had a camera and a scope with me. Through the 8x50 finder, I see I could see that a "UFO" had a tail trailing below it.

If anyone has lost there weather balloons, they were heading south over Ipswich at 3:30pm

Would not be suprised to see some real ufo reports tommorrow.

The image was taken with a canon 550D at 55mm and manually focused.
The image was resize to 800 x 533. Below the marks is the full resolution showing the dots.

Yeah!I have my doubts as to whether, weather balloons exist at all.Look at the tail it can't possibly be real.No wonder the weather reports are soo inaccurate.

Got one of those UFOs in a startrail a while ago. I'm pretty sure it was a weather balloon as well.

Wind finding radar, probably from Brisbane Airport, or possibly Marburg(?), at 3pm. They fly balloons 2-4 times per day.

Funny, we receive emails about UFO's when radars go into test mode, and generate "bulls-eye" images. Sigh.
