Ngc6744

Not too big on galaxies but my mate was shooting this one with his 20" CDK that night so I thought why not give it a go with the puny little 90mm refractor.

Although tiny in the field something still turned up. I did 10x10min subs on it. Not too shabby. Big one here.

A tough galaxy at the best of times. Should be pretty stoked with that Marc. Goes to show how far the spiral structure extends. Well done.

Thanks guys. Yeah low surface brightness. It's pretty faint.

Great looking galaxy photo Marc.

Lots of detail and nice colour.

Your refractor is very sharp, but imagine this galaxy through your Celestron .

Ross.

very nice image Marc - sure is a dim one, so its a particularly impressive result for a refractor. Regards ray

Thanks Ross. With my legendary goto skills I'd never find it. I might end up photographing the lawn.

Thanks Ray. Yeah, just saw your superb rendition of it. Faint alright. But I had the chance to be in the right spot at the right time. Very dark skies and good view south and clear skies most importantly so gave it a shot.

Very nice Marc, and with only a 90mm refractor; you've managed to capture much of the dim extension for this faint object as well

With a 90mm scope!

I thought I was ambitious with my setup.

Nicely done Marc!

Cheers,

Justin.

Great result Marc. You've captured quite a bit of the spiral arms and the colours look good.
