Moon 120713

Hi,

I have not observed the crescent moon for a while. Through my 15cm F8 Dob there was a fabulous amount of detail. Some of which I've tried to capture in this image.

Thanks for looking.

Nice shot!

I grabbed a couple myself tonight. I've found it really difficult to focus on the crescent moon, the less of her there is to see the more difficult I have found it to get a crisp image so I just take a whole heap and pick the best one for editing.

Hi Andrew,

I use live view on my canon DSLR and zoom in at x5 and x10 and then focus the telescope until the image is sharpest. Then I try various exposures until I find the one that works best.
