You are dead correct David! The SMC is lowish in the murk of light/air pollution. The green channel seems to be most affected at my light polluted site.

This is just a test for when the SMC is at the zenith. A practice run sort of.

I thought it was worth a look.

I will enhance it all later by recollecting and blending NB.

Phil both panels were 20x4 min. for each of RGB. The camera was at -40C in RBI mode.

I figured out how to minimise gradients with StarTools. If anyone wants all the details just ask.

Large image x1.5 native pixel size. 14MB

Fiddly gradients. HLVG got rid of the green, then levels balanced the blue. Awkward bringing out the star colour, but succeeded a bit.

Needs more tweaking
