More rejects of natural patterns

G'day All,

I do believe, enough is enough. I have exhausted all my ideas on what makes a natural pattern and my ability to photograph them.

Below are 8 of my rejects.

The fingerprint was a right mongrel to take. One arm stretched out so my finger was against the background and the other stretched out to use the cable release.

The wood is Grevillea robusta (Silky Oak)...a beautiful timber.

A succulent from the botanical gardens.

The trunk of a palm.

A small waterfall showing the constant pattern of ripples in the water as it is channeled and dropped over the fall.

An aquatic plant commonly called Nardoo. An aboriginal food source.

The leaf of a Delonix sp. The wind was blowing so not a good shot.

My mother collects shells and this is a cutaway of a Chambered Nautilus.

Peter.

Is a great topic this month Peter. Your last shot is a pearler. Certainly some inspiration for those looking for ideas.

G,day Peter,

As a picture framer* I reckon all those photo's would look really good framed together. It would make an interesting feature on your wall

* I retire from framing next week coz I have an allergy to some of the wood we use for the frames.

Excellent "rejects" Peter. Hope you don't mind me saying so, but I would like to have seen your lovely Chambered Nautilus as your entry for the comp. It is absolutely breathtaking to look at its incredible structural beauty.

Cheers

Dennis

Many thanks for the comments!

Dennis, you may say whatever wonderful comments about my images as you want . Whether or not the image is in the photo comp, the main thing is I have posted it and you have enjoyed it

That's a good idea Mick, never thought of it myself. There is a framing shop just down the road from me so I'll ask them.

Peter.

They're all great, Peter. I did a fingerprint one myself but lost it in the conversion somehow.. Will have to reshoot. I used my photographic assistant's finger instead of my own

....er, Mike - do the photo comp Rules & Regs allow for a photographic assistant....?

I had to ensure Narelle was at least 10 yds away and providing no assistance when I grabbed my image of the tree bark.

Cheers
