Trifid DSLR

Camera: 5D Mark 3
Mount: MX
Scope: CDK 12.5, fl 2541mm
Guider: STi
Software: The SkyX
Computer: MacBook Pro, OS 10.8.2

Exposure: 2556.5 sec @ 200 ISO
Image scale : .51 arc seconds per pixel

This is a single 42 min guided exposure. The only processing; levels, colour balance, and some sharpening. The auto dark was disabled in camera.

This was just a test to see how long I could guide for and how well the Canon would hold up with long exposures.

Cheers

Phil

It is more than I expected Laurie!

For such a long exposure I would have expected some guiding errors to creep in.

I am pleasantly surprised.

cheers

42 minutes! That's like back to the future - I feel like I'm in the 190s again ;-)

Nice shot, too.

That should have been '1980s', of course :-)
