Likewise. I hope he recovers well.

I tried to get tickets for his tour, but Brisbane was sold out. He's one of the few speakers I'd go out of my way to hear.

Television could be so good but it's mostly dreadful. He has more than done his bit to raise the bar.

He is certainly a great presenter of natural history-no one else comes close, hope he has a speedy recovery.

Just read the link-he nearly 87!,did not know he was getting to that age.It appears he very highly regarded in Australia-all venues booked out!.

Well he could always do a doco on his operation, now that would make an interesting watch on the Discovery Channel.

Seriously though!

I hope he recovers well, touch and go at that age I would think but he has that fighting spirit.

Fingers crossed for him, he's my favourite TV presenter. I remember seeing a programme about him a couple of years back and he arrived in Australia (Sydney, I think) and as he was going through the airport a bloke said to him "You're the best thing on the bloody TV!" - I agree!

Damn, another bulwark of reason and knowledge in peril. Who could possibly take over his baton and carry his work forward for the benefit of future generations? Against the onslaught of commercial TV's "World's top-10 most dangerous damsel flies" style programmes?

Cheers
Steffen.
