Here I sit in Brisbane and already people in the office have been making a bee line for my desk, eager to remind me that it's State of Origin time and that my state of origin is NSW.

If I hear once more that 8 years of domination has a nice ring to it, well.....

Dear young Mr. Daley, I beg you, for the sake of we New South Welshman who live behind enemy lines, please, please, please get the lads to feel the pride of the blue jersey and win the State of Origin this year!!

Hi Mario,

I am NSW born, reared in SA and have lived most of my life in Qld. I am an AFL fan and have little or no interest in rugby.
However for what reason that is beyond me I watch the State of Origin Match.
I don't favour either State. However to support you, Mario, I will try to call for a NSW win.
Let the Cane Toads loose, we will stomp them.

Was donating blood yesterday, and they asked if I wanted moron or blue bandages. I didn't twig (I don't follow ANY football, regardless of type), and just picked moron. Then I twigged... ah well, the phlebotomist was Finnish anyway, so she didn't care either.

I was thrown up in the NT, reared in QLD so I suppose I should care about AFL and League, but not a glimmer of interest from me. I played Union in school, and still don't follow it to this day.

Meh, I use to have a QLD workmate who would rib us about it. Then I'd just laugh that half his QLD team were from other states and countries. He conceded and said that if QLD didn't do that they wouldn't be able to field a competitive side.
We always would laugh it off and just accept NSW hasn't got a chance in hell against QLD's stacked deck.

NSWelsh married to a QLDer... with a child born in QLD, NSW and Vic... its going to be big!! My dad played for NSW country back in the 1960s but supports QLD since his dad was born in QLD... go figure!
