NGC5128 NGC5139 widefield

Work travel and then cloudy weather has kept me from imaging for the last few weeks. To make up for it I have been going back over some of my images from earlier in the year. This was one taken back in January with a Nikkor 200mm f4 AI prime @ f4. Something a bit different, with NGC5139 and NGC5128 both in the same frame.

30x4min subs at ISO800 using a modded 400D. Night time ambient temps of around 20-25 C.

Like this wide field Richard!

Something I've wanted to do but haven't done yet.

Cheers,

Justin.

Great widefield. Nice to see these two in one field. I tried something similar a while ago with a shorter FL but it didn't turn up any good.

Great looking wide photo Richard.

I love the wide composition.

I have been trying to get a similar shot with M31 and M33, but something always goes wrong.

If you have a good view to the north you should try it in a couple of months.

Goos luck.

Ross.

Excellent getting these two giants to share a sensor. The galaxy halo has shown well and Omegas elliptical shape is seen.

John.
