Annular Eclipse from Kumarina, WA

Hi all, this image was taken just after sunrise north of Kumarina (between Meekatharra and Newman) in WA. The distortion is due to the low altitude as the sun rose in full eclipse. Great show though!

We did a short video on our experience which can be found at https://vimeo.com/66197948. I had problems with finding the sun with the solar filter fitted, then my memory card filled up (which I had to download to continue), then I lost power to my mount! Fun fun fun. At least I will be better prepared for the next one.

Other AGWA (Astronomy Group of WA) members also got some great images and video.

Cheers Grant
