Tomorrow!!

Only one sleep to go before the adventure of a lifetime begins.
Watch out USA, JJJ is on the way.
The Star Trek shirt is packed for our "away mission" to the Grand Canyon, the Cocktail frocks are carefully rolled up inside tshirts and the rest of my suitcase is taken up with astro gear, camera bags and Tim Tams. LOL
Tucson is going to be amazing.
I received an email last night from Rikki Hocking at Lunt inviting me to come and have a tour of the factory and have a look through the latest scopes off the assembly line.
Oh and Sunday the 26th is going to be a very special evening. If it comes into being, there will be a jam session for the musically minded Astro folk attending Spacefest. I can't say much more, just that it's going to be an Ultra D'reamy occasion.
OK, just found out that the Jam Session is ON!!! Woot woot. I'll try to grab some video footage because this will be a once only event. So excited.
Petra and I are going to be coming home with memories to last a life time.

Thanks.
Fortunately my holiday has be pre disastered, spent nearly all of yesterday in bed with a 24hr bug. so sick But better now and busily catching up with my preparations.
My biggest decision atm is how many cameras to take with me.
I think 2 is enough, really. The DSLR naturally, and the Lumix with its mega zoom doubles up as binoculars.

Have a great trip jjj.
I have done it. I know what you are in for.

I know that you have been studying geology. So give some time to having a look through the Petrified Forest. Its only desert with a lot of petrified logs laying around, but there are stops with tourist info available.
Some years ago it was $20 per person to enter. The drive through is about 20miles (30Klm) from memory.

The system is an ancient river delta. Enjoy.

Cheers

Enjoy your trip to the States!

If you're near Williams, Arizona make sure you visit "Bearizona" - you need a car though as you drive through it. Lots of interesting wildlife close up...

Cheers,
Mario

Hi JJJ,

Have a great trip.

If you have a head cold, ask the chemist for something they recommend before
you fly. If your sinuses are blocked, the low cabin pressure whilst flying can
be unpleasant and even painful. In any case, hope you feel better soon.
