Nice monochrome shot Martin.

What mount and camera did you use?

Nice one Martin.
I have one of those scopes and can't wait to get a mount and start photographing.

Hi Martin it is good to see the 100ED collecting photons and producing very good images, rather than collecting dust at my place.

How is the electric drive for the focuser you made performing? That AP focuser is solid hey!

Was that at the native FL or did you use the FR/FF?

Thank you Bert
With the gear reduction of the electric focuser i can't turn the focuser by hand at all and there is just a tiny bit of play.
That focuser could hold a tank
The photo was made with the FR/FF, had to buy some reducers from Hutech to get it on my filter wheel, stars are pinpoint till the corners with it and the distance to the CCD chip is exactly 55mm.
Thank you again for the scope and the rest
The ED80 is at Snake Valley now

Martin.

It was a good move on your part Martin to go to the trouble of correctly fitting the FR/FF to your mono camera.

The Hutech FR/FF produced pinpoint stars to the corners of the Canon 5DH full frame camera with the 100ED. It corrects the field curvature almost perfectly of any APO refractor. In fact it even flattened the field curvature of my TAL200k.

The fact that you are getting pinpoint stars with a luminance filter tells me you have very little chromatic aberration in the optical train.

It is good to see the 'old girl' back in action and appreciated. Well done!

Bert
