M20 Trifid

Hey all. I had perfect timing with the clouds rolling away as the moon disappeared. I decided to revisit one of my favourite DSO's, the Trifid Nebula.

I attempted this one last year with my 10" Newt, with OK results, but I think this one topes it. The new RC has been giving me really good results so far, and I'm stoked with this one

Imaged over about week with the QHY 10.
10 Hours with 15 minute subs, guided with the ONAG.
Hope you like it

All feedback welcomed!

That's really nice, Eric. You've captured a lot of the dusty bits.

That is an exceptional shot Erik. Lovely colours and details. All the hard work and integration time paid off in a big way. Very smooth.

Tell me about itNever gone that far before. Probably a bit of an overkill, but it was worth it

Thanks Marc It did, 10 hours was a long timea first for me, but the more the better I guess. I'll post a version 2 soon. Done a bit of tweaking of the background colours.

Erik.

Yeh that's a beauty Erik, I like the way you have processed all that outer brownish dust, not a traditional look but I like it
