May 7th sun

Seeing wasn't too shabby this morning, the image (linked below) is at around 50% res to the original to keep it web friendly

Decided to go with a negative presentation, to highlight the filaments.

May 7th Sun here

fantastic image peter did you take this from your backyard? I live not far from you and the seeing conditions have been good in the days but it gets worse at night times.

Excellent negative rendition Peter! The good seeing has given it a nice satisfying punch. Another keeper

Hi Peter - happy snapping at the eclipse - totals are awesome but I reckon this one in Ha will be sweet - get it dead centre!

Imaged this morning as well but I don't think the seeing at my end was as good as your end. Good detail and nice proms.

Ta Paul. Seeing is the key.

Yep...we have a stupidly large camper van organised...hopefully the weather will co-operate

Well, yes, from the dome in my backyard. I find daytime seeing goes kaput by about 9.30am

Long way to go to take a photo, but then again, you are a long time looking at the lid...

When I look at this image, all I can think of is the perfect engine that this celestial body is. Raw power of unfathomable magnitude...and this is a small sun....

WOW is more of a stunned exclamation of wonder and awe I feel than a word of any depth.

Thank you for sharing this magnificent image and putting the work into it!

Baz.
