Call me old fashioned but I still like monochrome images of galaxies, and color images of nebulae...! Anyway, here's my recent image of an old favourite, the Sombrero, M104. It's been hard to get this year because of the poor weather. 10" RC, ST8, AP focal reducer, Lodestar guiding (PHD), and StarTools software processing.
Nothing wrong with a good old black and white and yes you're right you need good seeing for 104.
I haven't been having any luck down here as every time it gets high enough the clouds roll in.
Nice work under tough conditions.
