Pipe Nebula

A quick look around the Pipe neb this morning. Luminance only. 60 minutes.

FSQ and Proline 16803

100% resolution. 9mb file here

Lovely result John. Tight framing though which I feel is creating tension in the composition, probably could do with a mosaic to get more space. Very cool to capture the snake as well. Thanks for sharing this gem.

For sure Jase. Weather permitting, I'll try and add more segments tonight. This was just a fun shot to start with, poking around the sky. Funny how these turn into larger projects.. Looks like it can use a nice 2 x 6 mosaic to do it justice.

3 additional segments completed tonight before the clouds rolled in. Looking much more interesting.

Yes, me too! These past few nights have been cat and mouse with clouds over Coonabarabran. 5 of 9 segments completed, had to abort tonights segment 6 due to low clouds again. I'm going for the full area around the Pipe. Just need 2 good nights of solid imaging to finish up the Luminance.
