Saturn May 2nd

Decided to try the 5x powermate after being frustrated with the colour balance using my 3x Tal. Quite pleased how these came out considering the large scale produced by the QHY cmos chip (1.5x larger than with DFK)

Attached are colour, IR mono and a IR/Colour combo shot (all actual capture size). 22 degrees elev.

Thanks John! Must admit I'm pretty surprised how these images are coming out after the first capture back in February it looked pretty bleak but the new QHY cams and IR filter have helped greatly.

I'm looking at the 3x tv barlow as the 5x powermate is OTT strictly speaking with these cams unless seeing is amazing which it never is especially at this elevation.

Reckon when you do get decent alt Stuart all of this testing is really going to pay off and as Asi has said, pretty good results anyway for the current alt of Saturn.

Regards

I agree. The images are pretty decent for the altitude. I am sure that once you have worked out your gear and refined your technique, your will pull great images at a higher altitude.
