Saturn April 27th IR/Colour.

Managed just 2 avis last night before cloud took over. Colour run taken at 11.18pm and mono IR at 11.30pm. Seeing was terrible for the colour run but the IR once again worked miracles. 14000 frames captured in colour at 41fps and 11500 IR at 35fps 100% gain for both. Stacked 3000 from each and combined in winjupos using 1.5x drizzle for the IR. Both QHY cams used. 21 degrees elev.

Combined IR & Colour :

Straight IR :

That is amazing for 21 degrees Stewart, reckon you will have a great time with Jupiter next apparition. Low alt is certainly where the IR really does shine.

Regards

Thanks Trevor! Never expected to get an image like this a 21 degrees but the IR filter has transformed my imaging at this elevation. Yes licking my lips at the prospect of using this setup on Jupiter at 60 degrees!

Well done Stuart. I can't wait to see what you will produce when Jupiter is high up!
