Sunspot AR1726, White Light, AS120MM and Canon 5DMk III

Hello,

Here are a couple of views of Sunspot AR1726 as recorded from Brisbane on 22nd April 2013. The hi-res image with the ASI120MM was a freak capture when the seeing stabilised for some 150 frames during the morning session. All the other 3000 frame AVIs were of very poor quality due to the jet stream present over Brisbane. Sometimes you just get lucky!

The Canon 5D Mk III photo is a single exposure with the Tak x0.8 Reducer.

All taken with the Mewlon 180mm F12 with a Baader Astro Solar Film 3.8 density filter.

Cheers

Dennis

Sensational shots Dennis.:thumbsu p:
The seeing was a bit better this morning here at Cairns as well.
Those cameras are really performing.

That is a super shot - that group is quite large in WL - sign of things to come?

Thanks guys, I appreciate your comments and feedback.

In particular, I’d like to thank Allan Gould and Sir H0ughy for stimulating my interest in the ASI120MM CCD camera from ZWO Optical; it has re-kindled my interest in Solar and Lunar imaging!

Cheers

Dennis
