Quick Grab of Today's Prominence

Hi ALL

I managed a quick grab of this prom that has been hanging around for the last day or so. Seeing was ok but variable, but I'll take anything given Sydney's weather of late. Taken with the Lunt 80 and 5X barlows. Thanks.

That looks stunning Ted. Could you let me know how you black out the sun or point me in the direction to find out.

Hi Mark, thanks.
There are several ways to do it in PS. The simplest way I found was to simply use one of the select tools i.e. quick select or magic wand on the white part of the disk. The boundary of the selected area can be controlled by changing the tolerance number in upper ribbon area if using the magic wand. You can then smooth this line if it is a bit wobbly by using select, modify, smooth or refine edge option.
Others more skilled in PS are likely to have a better solution.
Forgot to mention, the selected are is then filled using the fill tool with the colour of black you wish.
